About the test
Do you carry a family tradition tied to Semitic or biblical origins? Have you ever wondered whether your ancestry reaches back to the world of the Patriarchs—to the people who lived, traveled, worshipped, and formed clans during the ages remembered in the stories of Abraham and Jacob? This compendium invites you into one of humanity’s most influential ancestral narratives, where history, tradition, and genetics converge to illuminate the people behind the Bible.
We reconstructed the DNA of 16 ancient Near Eastern Semites drawn from two closely related yet culturally distinct populations: the Hurrians of the Kingdom of Mitanni and the Arameans of the Kingdom of Aram. These were real communities who lived in the northern Fertile Crescent thousands of years ago—herders, city-dwellers, traders, and worshippers whose descendants helped shape the Semitic world of the ancient Near East.
What tests are included in this compendium?
This compendium brings together two of our biblical-era genomic reconstructions, each reflecting a different ancestral tradition preserved in the Hebrew Bible. Rather than forcing a single interpretation, this test allows you to explore both lineages—offering a richer and more inclusive connection to the ancestral world of the Patriarchs.
-
Hurrians: Abraham’s Forefathers (1387–988 BC)
Explore the genetic legacy of the Hurrians, a powerful and culturally sophisticated people associated with the Kingdom of Mitanni. This test sheds light on communities linked in biblical tradition to Abraham’s ancestral world, revealing patterns of migration, belief, and interaction across Upper Mesopotamia and the northern Levant. -
Arameans: Jacob’s Forefathers (2500–2314 BC)
Connect with the Arameans of the Kingdom of Aram, a Semitic-speaking population deeply embedded in the biblical narratives surrounding Jacob and his descendants. This reconstruction captures the genetic and cultural foundations of a people who would leave a lasting imprint on the languages, identities, and histories of the Near East.
Biblical sources preserve multiple—and sometimes differing—genealogical traditions for the Patriarchs. Rather than collapsing these into a single storyline, this compendium respects that complexity by presenting both ancestral populations side by side. In doing so, it allows you to engage directly with the people behind the traditions, regardless of which biblical narrative you follow.
What will you receive?
You will receive a comprehensive ancestral profile integrating genetic data with historical, archaeological, and paleogenetic context. Each ancient individual includes a detailed profile exploring daily life, religious practices, mysticism, social interactions, and recorded deeds. This is more than a DNA comparison—it is an invitation to stand closer to the world of the Patriarchs and to discover whether your own genetic story still carries echoes of the peoples who shaped biblical history.
Step into the deep past of the Near East and reconnect with the ancestors whose stories have been told for millennia. This is your opportunity to explore the living roots of the biblical world—and to see whether your DNA may still reflect that extraordinary legacy.
