I have around 69% similarity overall with this group, and 75% with one female, so now I understand more about my ancestors. I used to live near Stonehenge and Avebury and always felt a strong connection to these monuments. I believed I had ancestors buried there, who had helped to build them. Now I know this was true, and I wonder whether lots of people have an unconscious compass like this.

I have 61% similarity to the women in this group, which makes me very proud. I hope in the future more women's results will be noted by archaeologist, and am so glad Dr Elhaik is doing this. There is a fairly recent example from the medieval period in Gotland of a warrior woman of high status, with the mtDNA of t2b3 (same as mine). Perhaps she is too recent to be included? It would be good to know more about her.

I am amazed and pleased at the results of this test. My family history goes back to the Sephardi Ibn Yahya family of Spain, and before that to the Exilarchs of Iraq. This line of descent is via the Tribe of Judah. I never knew how accurate my research was, but it seems spot on as the closest match to modern people is with the Jews of Iraq, the oldest area which I knew to be connected with my family. What a great resource this site is!

This is really great information - the closest similarity I have with any of the ancient peoples seems to be with this Albion Celtic group. And that reflects my own family history. The query I have, though, is why every other person with whom I share similarities has a good sized portion of Scandinavian Early Bronze Age DNA, whereas I have none! Where were my ancestors in the Bronze Age? Why are they so different in not having that type of DNA? The mystery deepens.

This confirmed my suspicions that we had ancestors from Vikings in Ireland, which was a family legend. I think it is highly likely that we did, and can recommend this test to others with Irish or Isle of Man ancestry.

Detailed and absorbing results. Very worth while test, highly recommended for people from England and Wales who may well have Viking genes.

An interesting result, but not as detailed as I had hoped - still, it was worth seeing where my very ancient ancestors had likely come from.

Very interesting results, glad I took this test. It helps with my family history records and shows where we may have come from long ago. Highly recommended.

A very worth-while test, which showed me where my ancestors were likely to have come from and where they later migrated. Really interesting.

This test would literally embarrass
my original dna test (from another company) same exact dna file but very different results this one gave me results that actually mean something. It's based on genepools and the result is far more superior in comparison with my original dna test from another company.

FAQ

  • Q: What do Ancient DNA HubTM offer?

A: Ancient DNA HubTM offers the first and only genetic tests that employ ancient DNA from real ancient people, ranging from the Paleolithic to the mid-19th century. Our tests report your genetic relationships with ancient individuals and cultures from all over the world, like Paleolithic Americans, Icelandic Vikings, or the legendary Tribes of the Biblical Israelites (before their exile).

  • Q: How is Ancient DNA HubTM different from other DNA testing providers?

A: Providers will typically compare your DNA to the DNA of modern people, such as yourself. They cannot teach you about the ancient past. We provide a comprehensive collection of cultures and report your genetic identity at the level of ancient individuals. We also provide genetic, historical, and archeological information about ancient people and cultures at low-cost prices.

  • Q: I am a genealogist. How can I use Ancient DNA HubTM for genetic genealogy?

A: With our tests, you will go far beyond the inventions of photography and paper and discover new connections with ancient people that, thus far, existed only in stories and legends.

  • Q: How accurate are your tests?

A: Our tests are developed in collaboration with top geneticists like Dr. Eran Elhaik, who has been developing genetic tests for two decades during his tenure at Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Elhaik designed the GenoChip 2.0 kit and test for National Geographic, the GPS Origins kit and test for HomeDNA, and a plethora of tests for Gene Plaza. His Ancient DNA HubTM test series is the first to combine paleogenetics and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to achieve an accuracy of 95%.
